- The thermal shut-off valves of the KTZ are designed to automatically shut off the gas pipeline that supplies gas to industrial or household appliances when heated during a fire. A locking element in the form of a ball is installed inside the KTZ body in a spring-loaded state, which in turn is held by a hot-melt element made of a special alloy. When the KTZ case is heated to a temperature of 80-100 degrees Celsius, the thermoelement melts, releasing the shut-off element, thereby the gas flow is hermetically blocked.
